The place to be for the international model flying scene. Experts claim that the Tannenalm has the best infrastructure for model flying in Europe! Registered as a fully-fledged slope flying area with Austro Control, this means: Flight altitude up to 300 metres and model aircraft weight up to 25 kg!

Fly like an eagle

From the beginning of April to mid-October, nature provides the best conditions for unlimited flying fun over the Zillertal. The unrestricted use of the model aerodrome is only available to hotel guests of the Tannenalm. We ask for your understanding!

The second flying slope at 1,700 metres above sea level is easily accessible by car or with the inexpensive hotel taxi via a gravel road. Ideal flying conditions prevail with southerly or westerly winds.

  • Launch trolley for electrically powered large models up to 20 kg

Important information

  • Registered slope flying area in accordance with Article 16 of EU Regulation 947-201
  • Before flying, the frequency must be collected from the hotel for a hire fee of € 5 (not applicable for 2.4 GHz)
  • Hotel guests can rent a frequency free of charge for the duration of their stay
  • Flying is only permitted with valid insurance on the designated area!
  • Due to noise pollution, aircraft with combustion engines are not permitted - electric motors are welcome
  • On arrival, each guest must sign our list of consent forms for guest pilots with their name, signature and registration number
  • As usual, every guest must have valid insurance, an A1-A3 drone licence and must also sign the flight logbook every day
  • The flight logbook and the operating regulations are available in the large modelling room

This ensures that our beautiful hobby is practised in a truly orderly manner and in accordance with the law. If an accident should happen, everything goes its orderly way and the insurance coverage is also guaranteed in the interest of all of us.
